What is health coaching?

ABOUT HEALTH COACHING

Health coaches officially entered the health care scene in 2017.

There are issues best dealt with by doctors’ appointments, but the time and space between appointments is where health really plays out in your life.

Health coaches guide you through health and wellness in between those doctor visits.

We can be found working for health clinics, health insurance providers, wellness companies, gyms, schools, nonprofits, or private practices.

We are specialists in helping people take action and sustainably change their behavior towards their unique wellness goals. Health coaching is evidence-based, holistic, and client-centered.

We are often sought out by people who want to get healthier on their own, or by people who have been encouraged by their doctor or other health professional to create lifestyle changes.

Change is a skill and can be difficult to do on your own. But with the right support and resources, you can be on your way to feeling like the best version of yourself.

Health coaches are specialists in helping people sustainably change their behavior to reach their unique wellness goals.

The Pillars of Health Coaching

My approach to health coaching is based on three important concepts:

Evidence-Based

Health coaching is based on empirical research. It combines nutrition science, behavioral science, exercise science, and health science.

Deep Health

Health is more than what food you eat or how much you move. Health is multifaceted: relational, existential, mental, physical, emotional, and environmental. Nurturing habits in these different areas of your life, in a sustainable way, fosters deep health.

Client-Centered

You are unique. Your history and relationship with nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress is unique. Your ‘why’ is unique. A health coach tailors their coaching to you as an individual.

Pick the right health coach for YOU.

Just like in any profession, each health coach is different. Their approach is different, their clientele is different, and their practice model is different.

Finding a health coach who is the right fit for you is critical.

Choose a health coach who you feel like you can open up to, who shares your values, and who dedicates time to keeping up on the highest-quality research in the field.

Make sure they have the capacity to give you individualized attention and care.

Their program should be constructed in a way that will get you the results you want.

So much of our health care system is based on one-off, rush-them-through, cookie cutter-style systems. Health coaching definitely should not be.

Hiring a health coach is a serious investment in yourself. Invest in a way that ensures a good return on that investment.

What Do You Want?

  • More energy, less grogginess
  • More confidence, less shame
  • Better sleep, less restlessness
  • More sustainability, less yo yo-ing
  • More mobility, less pain

From a client…

“Molly has been instrumental in my health and wellness journey. From the moment I began our sessions, it was clear that Molly’s passion for coaching and her genuine care for her clients set her apart.

Working with Molly has been both enlightening and enjoyable. Her humor and honesty created an environment where I felt safe to explore my goals and challenges. Together, we established a toolkit of healthy habits, including mindful eating, protein prioritization, and developing a consistent sleep ritual. These practices have not only become part of my daily routine but feel entirely natural now.

Molly’s approach to habit integration was particularly impactful. She helped me break down my goals into manageable steps, allowing me to make meaningful changes without feeling overwhelmed. I now have a greater sense of control over my health, and I feel empowered to advocate for my own well-being—something that I had struggled with before.

Her insights on body awareness and the importance of listening to my body have opened my eyes to sensations I had previously overlooked. Molly encouraged me to prioritize my healthcare appointments, which has made a significant difference in my overall health and confidence.

One of the most valuable lessons I learned from Molly is the importance of accountability—not as a burden, but as a guiding principle to live authentically. She helped me realize that asking for support is a strength, not a weakness, and I am now more comfortable seeking help when needed.

If you’re considering working with a health coach, I wholeheartedly recommend Coach Molly. Her expertise, compassion, and unwavering support have transformed my approach to health, making it a journey of joy and self-discovery. Thank you, Molly, for everything—you’ve truly changed my life.“
